A question
After re-watching the matrix after a trilogy run on tv (something very rare in the uk) there is a question that bothers me.
why the hell does Neo bother flying? to fly he has to constently change his X,Y and Z axis points, so wouldn't it be simpler and quicker to identify the location he needed to go to, and alter his co-ordinates accordingly, effectivly teleporting. why fly when he can teleport? bloody idiot that he is, didn't even figure his name was an anagram of "one", Yeah THERES a clue for you Neo ![]() |

Re: A question
I don't think Neo actually could teleport himself through because the agents couldn't either. They actually still had to plug into the system by morphing into other people that are plugged into the system. Or maybe I'm mistaken which I probably am...

Re: A question
Because teleporting didn't look as cool as flying, especially with the 3D motions. You can't exactly do a spinning camera shoot on air.

Re: A question
I think it was clear that Neo could not teleport. Even the agents had to jump into other bodies. Yeah, you apply enough rational thought the whole concept of the matrix being a program and not a physical environment the whole thing starts to fall apart. But logic only spoils the fun.

Re: A question
Actually, I think the reason he could not teleport could make sense. Remember, it is still a program and parts of the program do not actually exist (at least for him) unless he is there. Look at it like a dynamic or active Web page. The web page is not really sitting there waiting for you to log on to. In fact, it does not exist, for your computer. It is only when you choose the page, by taking a certain path or selecting certain criteria, that the page then creates itself.
This is how the agents can “jump” into another body (program). As the main frame they can enter the search text, hit enter and go there. As long as Neo flys, he is moving from one frame to another, and the program creates itself as he goes. Much like a holodeck. Last edited by TheNewQ : Jun 18, 2006 at 08:43 PM. |

Darn that World Cup – I hate it when they do that. Think about it like a Google Search. When you enter key words and hit `go’ the search “results page” that it takes you to, is a page that was just created based on what you were looking for. The page otherwise does not exist –until those exact parameters are called for. In the Matrix, if a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it - IT DOES NOT MAKE A SOUND. In fact, if no one is there, there IS no tree. There is no woods. Last edited by TheNewQ : Jun 11, 2006 at 03:10 PM. |
