Re: A Film Inspired 12 Monkeys?
Chris Marker
(1921 - ) Filmography from Microsoft Cinemania 1962 LA JETÉE director, screenwriter Biography from Baseline Marker's best-known work, however, is the fictional LA JETÉE (completed 1962, released 1964), a haunting time-travel parable which consists—except for one short, and very beautiful, sequence of a woman waking up—of a series of still images accompanied by voice over narration. Considered an important milestone in the history of science-fiction cinema, LA JETÉE also self-consciously explores the philosophical implications of understanding the world through film and, indeed, the boundaries of what can be considered cinema. Marker's film quickly became a cult classic, so much so that, over three decades after its making, Hollywood produced an interesting feature-length adaptation, TWELVE MONKEYS (1995). I hope this helps a bit even thou it is not much. |

Re: A Film Inspired 12 Monkeys?
This forum is kinda pointless. I think that Ramses should combine it with the 12 Monkeys forum, and just re-name it "12 Monkeys/La Jetée".

Re: A Film Inspired 12 Monkeys?
Ditto - it's a silent short right (whose forum hasn't been really used)? Not a feature film, then the only reason it's got a space when plenty of other SF films don't is that he probably watched a 12 Monkey DVD extra and went ooooooh. ~shrug~ Probably be different if he was around, because then we could argu-- er debate it
