The Most Jaw-Dropping Scene (Could contain Spoilers)

I think the most jaw-dropping moment in this film was of course the ending where after the T-800 is supposedly killed in the tanker explosion it re-appears from the flames, phoenix-like, in its true cyborg-skeletal form and those scary deep set souless red eyes on the look out for Sarah & Reece.

Given that this film was made way back in 83/4 the sfx for that particular scene were spectacular.

This and Abyss are 2 films that have aged amazingly well from an sfx perspective.

It's great watching the 'Behind the Scenes' documentaries where you can see all the work that has gone into such scenes as the tanker explosion. All done with scale models rather than just done on a computer.

Well I'd agree with you in terms of Jaw-dropping effects scene. I remember the first time I saw it and the very early scene where he punches through the punk, that made my jaw drop. Probably the first time I'd ever seen anything like that. It conveyed the power of the Terminator in two seconds. No flying about on wires wth endless agile parry/block/strike stuff going on, just one hard punch.

Future Terminator movies would do well to take note at the simplicity, the raw horror and the dark violence of this scene....
