Yeah, but even if the Russian space programme was still going, Russian astronauts were called Cosmonauts, so the title The American Astronaut would still be vague and unimaginitive.

Not that I really care.

PS. I'm not American.

we actually have an israeli astronaut going up on the next shuttle, but as correctly pointed out here, he really is just joining the american ones.

In just a few months China will send a manned crew up.

They just finished up unmanned tests of an orbital craft.

Now to post something actually on topic. The title of this movie is very unfortunate. The movie itself has nothing to do with patriotic feeling or whatever. And this movie could have been easily called “The Astronaut”. It is a story about an astronaut and his friend that experience 3 minutes alone with a strange phenomenon in the orbit of Mars.

A very interesting movie that makes you wonder about the possible nature of alien life.

Cool Re: of course america this america that

Bottom line, Is it worth checking out?
P.S. There's a still from "Donnie Darko" in your reply thread but no review anywhere on the website. I'd like to say it was a dark, disturbing but close to brilliant reflection on time travel paradoxes.
