HOLLOW MAN
More like Hollow Crap, come on,Paul Verhoeven just
had to go all out with the horror film cliches. For
one, he transformed Elisabeth Shue into "HOLLOW MAN"s hero.
The question is why? Why didn't he make Shue's objective to
try to bring Kevin Bacon back to normal? At the end of the film , Bacon, the"Hollowman", falls to his hellish doom along with the elevator. What point was Verhoeven trying to get across? The world will never know.

whatever

Whatever man, Hollow Man what a great movie. And if anyone great were to make it , it had to be Paul. Everyone knows the entire point of the movie was to to show a humans behavior without rules and without restrictions. The reasons they were going to kill the scientist turned devil "Hollow man" ws because he was turning into an actual evil guy! He killed a dog for cryin out loud! He had already told Linda(Shue) that his invisibility was gift and baically said he wanted to explore it and do whatever he wanted with it!

Cool Hollow2hell, you are such a *****.

Hollow2 Hell,

You are the only dumb dude to actually say that Hollowman
was a great movie. Yes the first half was spectacular but the second half was horrible. Even the critics didn't recommend it as a rental. Don't be a dung-head, listen to the critics, they are always right.

I don't understand why everyone is complaining about this movie. After Sebastian experienced being invisible, he suddenly had no morals, and nothing he did had consequences anymore.

He became drunk with power and the possibilities of his "gift". I found that psychological part of the movie fascinating. It was after all the driving force behind the whole story, and what Paul Verhoeven and the writers were trying to get across.

Oh well.. each to their own. At least we all agree that the FX rawked

P.S. I hope that was a joke about critics always being right...

When they got out all the tranquilizer guns she says "We're gonna take 'im down!", I nearly laughed.

reminds be of an aincient greek ledgend and a certain H.G. Wells novel... I have never seen Hollow Man because I have never heard anyone describe it as anything but a hollow special effects feast. Should I rent it?

"Should I rent it?"

Yeah you should rent it, because you can enjoy it, but you might find that the second half dies along with the characters. I have to say that I enjoyed this, just for entertainment purposes. I love psychological thrillers. I mean power corrups, and this is a good example of a decent guy that turns evil, because there are no consequences for his actions. But, it ends like just like some stupid slasher film, and I think it has a little more substance to it than that.

When Elizabeth said "we're gonna take him down" I let that slide, because Sebastion did just kill their colleague, and she knew he was gonna kill all of them, unless they killed him first. But, it does sound ackward.

Well, it was at least a smart slasher film. So, ENJOY!

I said this in another thread but I'll do it again:

Sebastian should have won. His collegues had no chance. All he neded to do is kick them when they are down. But off course this would be "unpopular" with the general public so they made him :

1. Punch when he should shoot,
2. Run when he should have stayed and finished his buissnes.

If they made him the victor this would be a much better movie. This way it is just 7.5 but without the "happy ending" it would have been 8.5

You're probably right Ivanhoe . This movie could have been better, but I still had fun watching it.

and I'll say it again. DO NOT RENT THIS MOVIE! It was horrible. But with a few house keeping changes it could have been a classic in my mind.
