Re: Guitar Gods

Cobain wouldn't rank in my top 1000 guitarists. Marksman maybe, but not guitarists.

My vote goes to Jimi, the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.

Second best is Prince. That's right, Prince. Not only did the man teach himself to play over 30 different instruments, but I'd put him in the top 10 in all that he knows.

Honorable mention goes to Clapton.

How about that guitar player from Great White? He was smokin!

Okay, bad, bad joke. I saw them back when they were playing arenas. They opened for Aerosmith. I wonder what it must feel like to know that in 1989 you were playing to crowds of 50,000 or more in a sports arena to look out and see 300 people crammed into a building the size of a 7-11.

Anyway, I hear their guitar player (don't know the name, but I know he was the huge guy, about 7 feet tall) is missing in the fire in Rhode Island.

Re: Guitar Gods

I guess I like Hendrix, that guy frm the Mars Volta, George Harrison - The Beatles, The Edge, Ritchie Blackmore - Deep Purple, Mark Knofler,Toni Iommi of Black Sabbath, Lenny Kravitz, John Deacon of Queen, Wes Borland and stuff. Someone mentioned Adam Jones to me once, but I can't place who he is.

I forgot about Junior Brown, he is phenomenal. Since I'm talking about him, I may as well also mention Earl Scruggs and Vince Gill.

SF... your cool... partially, for remembering stuff like that.

HOW CAN YOU FORGET DJANGO!?!

...I guess it's like asking, "What are some of the best mathematicians?" --- Einstien probably wouldn't come up, becuase he's such an obvious choice that he's overlooked.
