Do Lickers mutate when they get fresh DNA or is that just the RE Licker? Why?

I've been pondering on this since the Licker in RE changed into a doglike thing with a pred like face. but the Licker in RE Apoc. got that guy in the church and didn't change at all. So is this Licker a variation of Licker like the different Tyrants in the games or some kind of unorthidoz mutationof the Licker? Please answer since my roomie is one of the biggest original RE fans(RE1-3).

Oh god he got a hammerr wapoiadf asdpvf asdl;fc asdfl;das /./.............. i

well it was just for the movie. in the game they never change. it may be an earlier prototype version of the licker. she said it was unstable sand it was an early experiment. probably a proto.

Yeah, in the games the Lickers don't change. There are two types - one with bony plates and one with just exposed muscle - but it's never suggested that one is an evolution of the other.

However, there's a tradition of mutating "Boss" monsters in RE. From Birkin to the Tyrant to Nemesis, G Virus monsters tend to start of as freaky looking bipeds and mutate every time they're badly injured, eventually resembling a headless bull or something... So while it's not something the Licker did in the games, other monsters did, and in the absence of the Tyrant or (at this point, Nemesis) it was sort of faithful to the games...
