Pilot's Mess [chit-chat zone]

This is the forum to get to know your fellow pilots and the ONLY place to talk about everything else not really relevant to sci-fi movies, including your personal loves and interests. A true pilot doesn't discuss these issues while on duty.

I would call them "Alternative Hard Core "

Note, that neither of them have guitar solos in their songs. And if you want to be even remotely associated with metal you HAVE TO have solos.

Re: The Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalist of Them All!

Hmmm, best vocalist for metal band. Toughy, I'd like to say that James Hetfield would have my vote, considering he has been progressing through many ranges in the last few years with his singing, making him a formidable singer.

But alas, my top choice is going to be a split between the two lead singers of the awesome band, Savatage, Jon Oliva, and Zak Stevens. Just listen to the wide variety of albums between 1983 (Sirens) to the present (Poets and Madmen) and the proof is in the pudding.

Jon Oliva was also instrumental and still is a part of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, a well known act that performs alot during the holiday season. One of their most famous songs "Christmas Eve 12/24" first appeared on the Savatage album "Dead Winter Dead" in 1995.
