Pilot's Mess [chit-chat zone]

This is the forum to get to know your fellow pilots and the ONLY place to talk about everything else not really relevant to sci-fi movies, including your personal loves and interests. A true pilot doesn't discuss these issues while on duty.

Re: Inssurection?

Well, the Koreans have been released... but now an Israeli and a Palestinian have been taken.

Meanwhile, heavy fighting still rages on, especially in Fallujah.

Re: Inssurection?

Let's see ... the presence of no-Iraqi soldiers is causing uproar and blody violence. I have an idea - let's send more, that's BOUND to fix it!

The country is freed from the oppressive regime, yes, I agree that. They couldn't free themselves, for whatever reasons they had, so it seems someone else had to do it for them, whatever the motives were behind the war, oil, poitics, whatever. And now the liberators have stayed ... erm ... why exactly? It can't be to maintain peace, otherwise the problems wouldn't arise.

I'm not touching the religious aspects of it with a 10-foot battleprod. Why? Because I don't want to. The things done by all peoples in the name of religion disturb and worry me.

Amd are they keeping that Israeli and Palestinian in the same room?!

EDIT : A rarity - this is a political post by me, the man who diplomatically keeps his silence on most subjects not lighthearted and frivilous

Re: Inssurection?

I just saw two images on Sky News that made home how bad it really is there: One of a wounded tank crew being evacuated from a burning tank, and another, the most shocking one, of an american F-16 frantically running away and dodging a heat-seeker. The mighty F-16 fighter-bomber looked like a scared sparrow fleeing, dodging left and right, up and down, trails of countermeasures left behind him.

Really stunning pics that show the level of frailty our forces have reached.

Don’t tell me you weren’t expecting that…

It's one thing to expect it, it's quite another to see it.
