Thumbs up Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2

These are my favorites of the series. Don't watch the others, they're only if you're a fan of the series, which I am.
I love Hellraiser!

And Hellbound is another case of the 'sequel is better that the original' type movie. It is very good in every way!
The picture in my sig is probably my favorite shot of Pinhead.
This particular pic is from Hellraiser:Bloodline, about the 4th or 5th movie in the series; the flick isn't good, but it gave me an excellent shot of my favorite Cenobite (you'll understand more about what that word is if you watch Hellraiser).

Yeah, the first two are fine. Recently though I watched Hellraiser 3 and I cringed all the way through...

Post Re: Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2

Who's your favorite Cenobite, Predn?

For me, it's Pinhead.
But the Channard Cenobite from Hellbound is a close runner-up.

SPOILER ALERT:

The only thing I liked about Hell on Earth was when Pinhead wreaked havoc at the Boiler Room nightclub. And while Pinhead is still trapped in the Pillar of Souls, I liked the 'skin-ripping' parts with the chains.

BTW, Predn, I loved when the Channard Cenobite kicked all the other Cenobites' asses.

"Ah, good. A fight."

Can't say I have a favourite...which was the one with the chatty-teeth in the first one?

He's also one I like.
His name is Chatterer. (What else?)

This is him.

Although it's not a good picture.

And here's a group shot of the main Cenobites:

From left to right: Butterball, Pinhead, Female Cenobite, and Chatterer.

"Hellraiser" and "Hellbound: Hellraiser 2" were quite good movies. I thought that "Hellraiser: Bloodline" was okay. "Bloodline" was not very good, but I would not mind watching it once in a while. Those three were the only "Hellraiser" movies that I saw.

Re: Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2

During the many years of watching Horror I must say that I never came to a horror movie that had more intriguing and intelligent ideas then the Hellraiser series. Especially the original Hellraiser and Hellboud: Hellraiser 2. Part 2 is the best in the series.

The thing why this movie is so good ( and the whole Hellraiser series) is that except for its unquestionable gore and suspense it has a strong paranormal component, a concept of a parallel Universes that brings in the Science fiction components to the story .

The series now has six movies with plans for part 7 and 8.

1. HELLRAISER
2. HELLRAISER 2 HELLBOUND
3. HELLRAISER 3 HELL ON EARTH
4. HELLRAISER 4 BLOODLINE
5. HELLRAISER 5 INFERNO
6. HELLRAISER 6 : HELLSEEKER

My recommendation definitely goes to HELLRAISER, HELLRAISER 2 HELLBOUND and HELLRAISER 5 INFERNO. Hellraiser 3 was awfull, Bloodline was better and Inferno was briliant. A step in the right direction for the series and more in synch with parts 1 and 2.

I love one and two. I used to have the first four on VHS but then I saw a Double Disc DVD with the first two movies in! I immediately brought it and forgot all about the sequels. Apart from Pinhead, my favourite Cenobite is the Chatterer too. Female Cenobite was also good; and as for Butterball...that guy was just messed-up.

I like the first the best, they changed the female cenobite in the second..she wasn't as scary looking.

Clive Barker has really gone to shit now though.

Re: Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2

Thats pretty crap though: All the others got cool, Cenobitey names.

And then theres "Female Cenobite"

I think its time she burned her PVC uplift bra and demanded her own name.

Yeah, I always thought that was kinda lame. Mind you, the others aren't actually names - in the original novella they have no names; those were just the way they were described in the script.

How about 'Throatess' ?

I got a model of the Lament Configuration on my shelf and I'm afraid to touch it; scared that I might touch it the wrong way and solve it.
