"Gordon is a noob"... hahahahaha!

I don't think we need most of the swear words added into the non-censorship, although I do think that the two talked about do need to be taken out of the censors. And perhaps words like cunt to be put in it.

I think we should censor "scrote" because it sounds icky.

Re: Swearing

perhaps a minimum age limit of 13 should be enforced, then with everyone being over 13, and therefore an adult , the swearing censorship could be lifted, and let's face it, most of the more active areas are for films rated too mature for anyone under 13.

Re: Swearing

I don't know about everyone over the age of 13 being an adult, but otherwise a restriction along those lines would be kindof helpful.

But would it be discriminatory to the SF-lovin' kids out there?

Re: Swearing

No....no it wouldn't. Bob has a point...most of the movies on here are for more mature people anyway. So if a 13 year old kid has seen, lets say.......terminator, or predator, or whatever these little bastards like, they've been exposed to the words, so what further damage could reading them do to their already warped minds?

Re: Swearing

oh marvellous. I was soo enjoying reading all the posts here, laughing my tits off (is that censored?) and then along comes airforceone and pisses on the parade.

Can't believe the c word is allowed through though! Ramses has either not ever encountered the word , or believes it to be ok. Reckon he's a pikey....

EDIT: Whoo can say piss too!

Re: Swearing

I'd completely forgotten about this thread xD Cracks me up.

And to the 13+ age limit thing, when you sign up to these forums... what are they called, phbb? Or whatever? You usually have to be over 16 anyway. It's just in that giant wall of text that everyone scrolls down to click the I Agree button when they sign up, so it's not listened to.

Besides, you can read these posts when you're not signed in, so anyone could read the swear words anyway.

Re: Swearing

Okay, here's for a list of acceptable words - or if censored an alternative:

Original Censored
***** B1tch
**** D1ck
**** Fuk
Twat Tw4t
Kunt - self-censored - the original IS OKAY
Bastard B'stard
Bollocks Bollox
Arse Ass
**** Sh1t

Wow... some people's names are censored!!! (Not that I know a Fuk Tracy, though).
And some of the worst words possible are not!!
I've sensored them out myself - for decency's sake!!

Re: Swearing

The old site used to let through all manner of verboten verbiage if you placed some empty italics tags between the letters. Now you have to actually italicize one of the letters to make it work. I just bought two Philip K. Dick novels and no one reading the 'book tab' thread will be confused as to which 'Philip K.' I've been reading. It's not Philip K. ****. Nor is it Philip K. D*ck. It is the one and only Philip K. Dick, AKA Philip K. Dick.
