Re: How big SF fan you are?
Just some special ones. Over and over and over again.
Resident Evils, The Fifth Element and Logans Run to name a few that I've seen more than three times each. (T5E would be around three times ten) |

Re: How big SF fan you are?
My list today is much shorter than it was five years ago! It comes as a suprise, even to me, but I can watch a lot of movies in such a span of time!

Re: How big SF fan you are?
Not another list thread (this one's been around a while)!
My opinion - Science Fiction film barely scratches the surface of Science Ficiton. 90% of the films released under the SciFi mantra are either horror films, actions films with a SciFi setting, blatanta rip-offs of other science fiction films, or just bad. I daresay that there are only 8 to 10 true science fiction films made in the past 30 years (more if you go back to SciFi's golden age 1950-1965) if you consider sequels and series as one entry. Add to that the fact that almost all of these 8-10 are based on science fiction novels and there really isn't much in the way of signature scifi films. In fact, I really can't think of any - Dark City, Metropolis.... |

Re: How big SF fan you are?
I agree with this, and I've seen just about all the major science fiction films...that probably sounds quite crazy, but there really isn't that many truly great ones to discover.

Re: How big SF fan you are?
Used to watch loads of sci-fi when I was younger during 70s/80s, regardless of quality -any old crap would do basically.
But now that Im a mardy middle-age git with responsibilities & loads of other things to do I don't get chance to view as much as I'd like. So much so that the last SF film I watched was the original Day Of The Triffids about 2 weeks ago. Must try harder |
