Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984).

Here is an awe inspiring work of Sci-fi/fantasy from Hayao Miyazaki and one of the best animated movies ever!

This is a fave among James Cameron who is a big anime/manga/Miyazaki/Ghibli fan and this is one of the major inspirations to Avatar. It's basically based on the manga by the same author and it's the 1984 Sci-fi movie that Dune should have been as it's very similar to Herbert's novel masterpiece on epic and scope.

A must see! i loved it since i was a kid in the 80s when i rented it in a horrible butchered US cut called Warriors of the Wind which New World Pictures screwed up but i didn't care because i loved it as a kid then i realized when i saw an uncut version i borrowed from my anime class in high school then taped it, i realized Warriors of the Wind was a cheesy version.
