Thumbs down Bad news, Transformers fans...

From IGN.com:

Bay Directing Transformers
More than meets the eye to Web rumor.

April 06, 2005 - The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Michael Bay will helm the big-screen version of The Transformers. Although word of Bay's possible involvement leaked online over the weekend, he had been a rumored contender for the director's chair as far back as July 2003.

The project will reunite Bay with DreamWorks, the studio behind his next release, The Island. The screenwriters of that pic Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are now revising the original Transformers draft by John Rogers'.

Producer Don Murphy, however, said on the message board of his official site that there is "no deal" finalized yet for Bay.

Bay's credits include Armageddon, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, and Bad Boys.

Transformers is slated for a Thanksgiving 2006 release.

I will withhold judgement until I've seen The Island. The trailer looks excellent.

I say we mount a protest, a violent one, and make sure bay accidently brutally stabs himself while shaving

It is difficult to overlook Armageddon and Pearl Harbor. I thought The Rock was okay...I guess.

Re: Bad news, Transformers fans...

The Rock's saving grace was ahving Sean Connery. Bad Boys is fun though. I for one liked it.

Michael Bay is not a director. He's a guy that likes to rape celluloid.
