telecom masts? Is that like a cellular phone?

I hate cell phones - a necessary evil I think, an electronic leash so my mindless mega corporation of a company can keep tabs on me 24 hours a day.

I work on computers and they are slowly killing me I think.

Yup, mobile phones. We're building a network for video and picture phones.

And frying all our neighbours. Muhaha!
What time is it where you are?

It is 2:30pm. I go home in an hour and am off for four days. But right now I am heading to the restroom and to the drink machine for a Diet Dr. Pepper - caffeine, the cornerstone of western culture...

I despise working late. Heck, I despise working. When is the world going to let me stay home, drink coffee, listen to jazz music, and write short stories all day?

Well Jill, I think you and I have singlehandedly brought the Logan's Run forum from one of the most neglected to one of the most popular forums in this corner of sci-flicks. I think Michael York owes us a little royalty money, what do you think?

Death at 21, not 30

HighWiredSith, if you think submitting to death at 30 is distrubing you should read the book. In the book the people submit to death at age 21 . It was changed to 30 in the movie so they could have Micheal York as the star of the movie and not some young unknown actor.

Re: Is it possible to like this movie and use English coherently?

I have looked for the book on numerous occasions and have yet to find a copy. I have not gone so far as to look on-line yet but have checked many a library and bookstore. I plan to get a copy of the movie on DVD after the holidays. I might also order a copy of the book.

To restate - the movie, which in the context of being young and very much into more flashier sci-fi like Star Wars and the Trek movies, did not at all impress me. Being now over 30 and very much appreciative of true sci-fi material, I thought this film was very, very good and would look forward to seeing it updated.

Try looking for a copy of the book on EBAY.
Also, try looking on BarnesandNoble.com or on Amazon.com.

It hasen't really dated that badly, maybe the costumes have a bit, and the sets - but the story's stil great.

Re: Is it possible to like this movie and use English coherently?

The most dated aspect has to be that goofy robot that keeps freezing people. Other than that, I didn't think the costume or even the sets (which still look like a shopping mall to me) were that bad, especially the costumes worn by the female characters. Zowee!
