I have not read any of the Bean sequels, though I am 90% sure I have a copy of Shadow of the Hegemon somewhere. Too much to read, too much to read - what a great problem to have.

A friend of mine screamed about this book for months and months till i finally broke down and read it. I gotta say, it might be one of my favorite novels of all time. Ender was an interesting little guy.

Re: Ender's Game, the book.

Ender's Shadow... such mixed feelings. I enjoyed the book- I really did. But the fact that it was a sort of a rewrite of what IMHO is Card's only work of merit left a bad taste in my mouth. My favorite part of Ender's Shadow was probably the fact that Bean is an orphan. No, no- really! I know how that sounds, but I have a perfectly reasonable adult reason for this.

Bean's lack of biological family allows (maybe even forces) Card to drop his irritating Mormon hard-on for dull-as-all-**** nuclear family dynamics.
