Posted in the AVP forum for when Ramses gets back to update.

Be ready to verify your age, because it's got some violent images, acid burning through a face, skinless bodies, Predaliens, ridgeheaded Aliens ala James Cameron/Stan Winston, Predator looks sleek and mean and ain't no unblooded baby Predator, sweet weapons etc Woo Hoo! I'm excited!!!

Seems pretty sweet on the action. First I was wondering why the heck did the predator(s) kill all the "civilians" that came across, but ah! of course alive they'd be just prey and incubators for more aliens...

That whip was sweeeet.... *drool*

Ou maan, that movie was just mediocre. No real content what so ever. Just.. soulless unentertaining action and running from one place to another.

It was HORRIBLE. The first one was better, and to say THAT is a crying shame.

As i said in the other thread, all this did was lower my respect for Predators, and people who justify liking them. Why? This Pred showed a shocking and despicable level of incompetence. If I was his boss, I'd have repudiated him.

Hell, the predators in the first movie were more idiotic than the one in the second movie. Hell, in AvP, three predators couldn't kill a handful of aliens. The single predator in the second movie killed lots all by his lonesome.

I just saw it and it wasnt too bad, at least not as bad as the first. They should have given the Preda-alien more scenes and had the Predator focused getting him/her/it fast as possible. The humans were outclassed on every level and I think the Predator knew he might be outclassed by the Preda-alien, big time, but gave his best shot. The last scene was good and leaves the door open for a sequel.

I agree oscar, the whip was sweet

This movie must make James Cameron and Ridley Scott spin in their graves...... what do you mean they're not dead?

Right... to do list......

(because my posts are never wrong... kind of)

I watched both these movies a few days ago...i'm not sure why. I think its the masochist in me. Anyway, my opinion is still the same about the first one. I remember vaguely liking the second one. I think i was high when i saw it. Because i didn't like it at all the other day. Terrible movies.

Eh... I'm usually pretty uptight about staying faithful to the origins, but since AvP was mainly a comic-book and videogame franchise, I have little problem with it veering towards "stupid-action".

I enjoyed both movies for what they are, and avoided any comparison with the original series. However, it should be pointed out that they are both way better than Alien Ressurection.

Iwata I know what you mean by not being fussed considering AvP franchise came from videogames and comic books. However I think that's the most damning about the movies, I was a big fan of both videogames for the PC, in fact I still have them, and the storyline, visual, hell even the acting was better in the games than the movies. Now if that's not a sorry state of affairs for a film to be in I don't know what is.

What's sad is the fact that in the games, the fans get what they want to see, a decent story combined with Aliens, Predators and Colonial Marines, yet 20th Centruy Fox ket making movies set in the present day. A shame really.
