Down the toilet again

This is a rant about the transformers toy lines, not the series or the movie

First amarda, with Trash-can head megatron and the damnable minicons came, figures which lacked mobility (no leg joints.etc)
and looked ugly, even for things that were meant to represent giant robots

a line that was less than enthustiastically recived after the ultra-posable RiD line,

then we got the energon line , Finally it looked like hasbro had seen the light, posability was back, and the decepticons looked Retro-modern a mixture of the old colours and styles with the new , they actually looked like decepticons for the most part, the autobots were still stuck in the armarda era of bright colours , but they had posability back, which was good enough

and now, Galaxy force is on it's way, everythings taken a step backwards again, Megatron is an ugly lump again, and Optimus prime looks cheap and tacky, in fact of this wave the only one that looks remotely diserable is Vector prime,

Vector

Optimus

Megatron

I bought Alternators Hound and Sideswipe when I was still in Japan, also managed to buy 20th Anniversary Prime. (Which I must say is a most excellent toy). I managed to get alot of the reissues over there too, particularly Megatron in P-38 Walther version. Something we'll never see in the US, toy gun rules and all.

Re: Down the toilet again

I haven't heard anything about Soundwave becoming an Alternator. The latest I've heard about was Wheeljack, as a Mustang GT.

Bloody hell I want decepticon alternators, and a masterpiece megatron ,

What's so difficult about doing the decepticons as alternators i mean really.

Gah, I'll just have to continue getting the autobot ones.

Re: Down the toilet again

A MP Megs? That'll never happen LOL. Would probably look even more like a P-38 than his original version LOL

As for 'Con Alternators, they do have them, though they are simply redecos of the Autobots, Ravage, Swindle, Dead End, Shockblast (which seems to be Shockwave, one eyed and purple)

But still a master-piece megatron would be awesome, and I want decepticons based on the original ones, but with the real world names and logos

soundwave as a sony walkman, the greatest two evils in the world merge

Re: Down the toilet again

I am really trying to understand you but what the hell are alternators?

I used to have All the little green ones(the construction vehicles) that turn into a big green one. And one Dino bot. As a matter a fact I still have that one.

Can you please clarify what has happened with the toy line since then?

Re: Down the toilet again

They look good.

So what happened to the toys since the classic line?

BTW these look mighty expensive!

PS: Do you know what was the name of that big green robot I mentioned?

Re: Down the toilet again

there not too expensive

and the big green one

Devastator, ir at least it sounds like this one your describing, and the classic line, changed to the G2 line, then the beast wars , beast wars transmetals, and panned out with beast machines

armarda, energon and Galaxy force/cybertron are basically a "start again" series, which is brighter and less fun, and more childish

Yup, that is the one, Devastator.

So is there a cartoon for the Alternators line?

Re: Down the toilet again

Nope, but judging by the current cartoons, thats not nessacerily a bad thing,

just stick to the the original series, and beast wars, the rest arn't worth bothering about.
