Bah, Roger Moore!

Connery rules, Brosnan, Dalton, Lazenby, then Moore, in that order.

Re: Best Bond Actor?

First I heard Brosnan didn't want to do another one, then I heard he was misquoted. Then I heard MGM or whoever owns the rights didn't want Brosnan back. I've heard names such as Orlando Bloom, Hugh Jackman, Julian McMahon and Jude Law.

I think what is gon' happen is they will cast a new James Bond, then the subsequent movie will bomb and they'll ask Brosnan to come back. Kind of like what happened with Connery.

I recently wacthed Goldeneye again, and the question I have is...how could they mess up the series after such a good film. TND, TWINE, DAD, just piss-poor efforts compared to Goldeneye.

Re: Best Bond Actor?

Of the four (or is it five), Brosnan Bond films, Tomorrow Never Dies was the most Bond of them all. Lite on plot, heavy on action, plenty of casual loving. Goldeneye tried to interject a little too much background story. TWINE was ruined by pep-squad cheerleader supposed to be nuclear scientist Denise Richards and DAD was a little too far fetched, even for a bond film between the face-offesque plot and the invisible car. Plus, Halle Berry really showed her limitation trying to pull of the sexual innuendo babble.

How can you say that ANYTHING is far-fetched on a Moonraker forum and maintain a straight face?

Desipte its bubblegum silliness, Moonraker was not that farfetched. Orbiting spacetations, space shuttles - these are all reality and were close to reality even then.

Even that considered, I like to pretend that Moonraker doesn't exist. It was a shameless attempt to cash in on the Star Wars fever interjected into the series. If you watch The Spy Who Loved Me you see that the next film was supposed to be For Your Eyes Only - easily the most realistic of all the films, but producers got dollar signs in their eyes....

I didnt like Moore's bond they were all too far fetched and full of stupid stunts and gimmicks.

OHMSS was for me the best bond movie. An unknown actor and a good old story.
