Original Movie Poster

When I first saw this movie, I felt that this poster was misleading in stating that it was an epic adventure. I personally found 2001 a rather slow and not particularly exciting film.

Re: Original Movie Poster

I sort of felt that way at first, but then upon another recent viewing, I thought it was quite good. My ability to like it may have been influenced by my reading of Clarke's Childhood's End, which had the idea again of humankind being ushered into the next evolutionary stage by a race of aliens, and how that transformation completely changes what it means to be human and the change is therefore frightening to those who are aware of the coming change.

It's certainly epic, but I think the word 'adventure' is applied a little ... loosely, there

I enjoyed it, despite its slow pace.

Definately epic, but I'd say it was sort of an adventure too - just not the average default assumption of when we hear the word "adventure". There's another poster, which had the tagline, "The ultimate trip" - I think that sums it up better.

Still haven't been able to make it through it. It's probably up there with Fargo and Time Bandits for the most times watched but not actually 'seen'. Really should stop doing multiple things with some films, but my attention wanders too easily and it feels like I'm wasting time otherwise.

What on earth is it with Fargo that some find it difficult to sit through?! It's one of the best thrillers out there!

Re: Original Movie Poster

nice poster and very much an epic film.

I would also say it was an "adventure" of sorts in terms of the evolution of Man from Primate to Astronaut and beyond

Surprised that I actually found a movie poster for this, considering it was made for TV. Two years in the making? Yet it's always considered the poor...
