The new international trailer, a few extra scenes added (I think a shot of Captain Pike) and a nice surprise at the end.

well, one things for sure, it should be interesting. I mean, love it or hate it, youre probably all gonna at least watch it - I know I am, because Im a ST lover.

Oddly enough, I hated the original series with Shatner compared to The Next Generation. Im weird that way. Though I do hope that he doesnt destroy ST like Lucas did Star Wars.

Re: Star Trek XI Trailer

Hadn't really been interested in this, then saw the Spock poster at the cinema and figured I'd come have a look here. The first trailer link doesn't work, so I looked an apple and they had:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramo...er1_large.html
which is more a teaser and says under construction Dec 08????

Sith's trailer however looks like they're definately trying pump it up to epic scale. I like the universe's trade of antiseptic wholesomeness (which is what ST developed into) for a bit of dirt, grit and action.

Might be worth a look.

edit: This was on yahoo http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809752801/video/11834174 was this the scenes from the trailer at the beginning of the thread? Looks fun.

The FINAL trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramo...er3_large.html

Sorry Op, I know you're a purist and all but this looks like it's gonna blow the socks off of anything with the Trek label that's come along since 1984. Quite excited about seeing this.

Re: Star Trek XI Trailer

I'm reading the Official prequel comics, and apparently the Romulans go back in time and TOS era gets it's hands on TNG tech.

SPOILERS!!!!

So far the first two issues involve Picard (now Ambassador to Vulcan), Spock (living on Romulus publically), Data, (Data's memory download to B-4 apparently has returned Data to the land of the living by overwriting B-4's personality, Data is now captain of the Enterprise-E) and Nero (captain of a mining vessel). BTW, these prequel comics are written by the writers of the new movie. So until I see the movie, I'm going to say that thanks to Nero jumping back in time, blowing up Vulcan (watch the trailer, Vulcan's toast), etc, the new movie basically becomes an alternate reality/parallel universe.
