Wow. Truly a thing of beauty. There is such detail! They look EXACTLY as they did in Predator and Alien!

Both are sold together in a deluxe boxed set. I haven't seen any prices yet, but I'd guess anywhere from $20-$30. They should each stand about 7" or 8". Palisades also has a full body statue coming out, it looks better than the two mini-busts that were released recently.

I've always wondered... Why they look so human?

Re: McFarlane Toys has the AvP license!

i've always thought that it was because the prodiction designers on these movies/shows were terribly narrow minded.

If one concidered evolution, you would figure they were just humans, only in a later phase of development. But this explaination just doesn't make sense to me! --- why can't some people just come up with an ORIGINAL body style for thier aliens?!

i think that sphere did a decent job with it --- chrighton made the aliens kind of an abstract idea rather than any cerain physical being... i liked that eliment.

I've always thought that if other-world lifeforms existed, they would have a very similar figure to humans, being that our physical structure is very stable, etc. If you think about it, dinosaurs had a skeletal structure that SOMEWHAT resembled ours, and they're not related to us at all! .Skull on top, spine, ribs, arms on upper torso, pelvis, legs (we USED to have tails). And the same goes for predators and aliens. Hey, in the movies they could breathe air, so it kinda makes sense that they'd have the same kind of body structure. Think about it.

I didn't say that they're planets were exactly like ours, but they must be similar.

Re: McFarlane Toys has the AvP license!

that may be... but the odds are, that if there is another planet out there that sustains, it would propobly be at least of a different size, meaning their skelaton would develop in a different manner. Chances are that thier atmospher at least is composed of something different than ours... i mean, even earth's atmostphere used to be primarily carbon monoxide. Then came along plants, and converted it, for the most part, to oxygen, and then came us, and things like us, which developed using the plant's oxygen... (but i think i'm getting off track here)
the odds are, that if aliens came here, they wouldn't be able to do so without substantial amounts of gear to sustain thier life.

Turning the sutuation around... if we discovered life on jupiter... imagin what the surface gravity would be like! -- we propobly couldn't go.
