I hope that, if this movie does get made, it is done with the respect that the book deserves. I really wish that they do not butcher it in anyway whatsoever. And please, put in the 42!

They can't not put in the 42! The Guide without the 42 is almost pointless!!!

Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide?

I couldn't imagine my life if I never learned of the 42. To think, there could be poeple in Sci-flicks right now that don't know of the 42.

We must be careful in our approach. They are everywhere. Seekers of the 42 for bad purposes.

I love the whole '42' bit in the book, very classic humor.

Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide?

Last night, on BBC Radio 2, Douglas Adams' wife, Jane Belson, was being interviewed and she was asked about the film, she said that Karey Kirkpatrick (James and the Giant Peach and Chicken Run) had been working on a script with Douglas and that some producers had read it and liked it, and that the executive producers had read it and liked and it seems to have a green light.

Groovy!

Why did he want to talk to such a strange writer? I mean, it's not as though their styles are similar in any way

Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide?

Well, Jay Roach said that he has given up and doesn't want to film it now. So who's gonna be the next director? I want Terry Gilliam! Or Terry Jones.

Some one named Terry at least...
But seriously, Gilliam is the best man for this job. What was his last movie again?

Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide?

Thats more of a film about Gilliam, or rather about what could have happened to Brazil, but luckily didn't. It is about how the production of his long awaited Don Quixote movie went to hell in a hand basket, I think. His last actual movie was Fear and Loathing in '98...

Damn hollywood sharks

Re: The Hitchhiker's Guide?

Gilliam's SUPPOSED to be working on Good Omens, based on the book by Terry ( ) Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. But noooooooooooooooooo, I suppose he doesn't want to do that anymore, like that Jay 'I Did Austin Powers Give Me A Break' Roach.

Why do these people change their minds so often?! I was really looking forward to Good Omens. And the H2G2 movie.

Yeah, I think it is...this movie's probably nver going to get made.

What?! No! Of course it is, Nex!

Oh, come on, it won't, Nex. Besides, if the movie DOES get made it won't be as good as the book and probably a huge dissapointment...

Fu*k you, man! FU*K YOU!

*sigh* I hate having arguments with that guy...

If it doesn't get made
We will just have to live with the mini-series then,
Maybe they'll do a new Mini-series, That might be worth it.
