Why are "Lifeforce" and "The Hunger" called vampire movies?

If the aliens in "Lifeforce" were the source to Earth's vampire legends and myths then how come they didn't have fangs or suck blood?

And how come the vampires in "The Hunger" didn't burn up when the sun hit them?

The sun thing doesn't come up in every Vampire myth, and even then it usually just weakened them rather than killed them, didn't it? The fangs thing is pure Hollywood too, if I remember my X Files right, few if any of the old Vampire stories mentioned them.

I've not seen Lifeforce though.

Lifeforce is good movie and if i remember right their true form the creatures did have fangs and looked abit bat like.
I saw the X-files episode with the vampires very quirky.
