Sounds interesting

I keep finding articles about this in my magazines. It sounds interesting. I haven't seen Aronofsky's other movies though.

Remember the name from ages ago, what's it about again?

Oh oh oh it's fantasy! Proper fantasy! (Just watched trailer - a teaser at best) It does look pretty, wonder if it will be any good.

Hopefully it won't have as much annoying camera wankery like Requiem For A Dream did.

Re: Sounds interesting

I looked at the title & thought "Oooh that has someone pretty in it, maybe it's Brad Pit". I knew there was an interest somewhere (not that you know, I'm easy or nowt but Kate & Leopold was cute - Helsing an abomination thank you Beckinsale).

S'far as I know it hasn't come out here and would have thought if it'd have come out there someone would said something. Actually I'm thinking mainly Sith, but maybe he didn't bother and therefore it did?

Re: Sounds interesting

As far as I know it hasn't come out yet, it's due out soon byt SEVERLY truncated for some reason I can't remember but is mentioned in this month's Empire (not as a review). There's a graphic novel of it that tells the whole story with the original scope, aparently.

Re: Sounds interesting

Now that I have seen both Pi and Requiem For A Dream, I am looking forward to this. Aronofsky's very Tsukamoto...

Re: Sounds interesting

Oh this is ridiculous it doesn't come out here (UK) till Feb 16th, USA wide in a few days though - 22nd, although it's hit a couple of festivals already.

I'm so curious to see how this one plays: all mush, sprinkle of magic or head twist.

Re: Sounds interesting

I saw in the cinemas ages ago; looked good, but wow, the script was so awful in places. I'm not surprised that so many critics bashed it. Weisz was appalling.

Re: Sounds interesting

Visually it was akin to The Cell (aka Awesome), but the rest only floated for 2/3rds and waddled or semi-drowned for the remainder - admittedly that's better than the rest of The Cell faired.

I think it might have something to do with my dislike for dream like ether-realities - where things aren't real in the end, the whole story looses it's meaning/impact to me. Even though it wasn't explicity stated that it was all a dream and I felt it was more metaphoric than pure dream-state, I still came away feeling as if...nothing really happened.

I had a hard time getting into this one. Good visuals but the script did seem lame.
