Firefly - the novels?

Are there any official novels of Joss Whedon's "Firefly" - either pre-series, post-Serenity, or the gap in between?

I don't usually go for novels based on tv-series / films - with the exception of a few Babylon5 books - but Firefly has just the right characters to suit a novel or five.

So - anyone seen any OFFICIAL books - not some half-arssed fan-fic by Demo18 etc.

I think there's a graphic novel or two by Whedon himself.

Re: Firefly - the novels?

There's a novelisation of the film Serenitry, don't know who it's by though, plus that's not really what you asked, so, er, forget I said anything

Judging from the reams and reams of Buffy and Angel books, though, if Firefly had been just a t a d more popular (maybe actually gone to second season??) then public demand would probably have soared.

Ah, but that's a graphic novel (that jill said is a bit sketchy, if I recall). No actual written novel novels as such yet, though, I think.

Original Firefly fiction

I have recently written a Firefly novel entitled Firefly: Old Habits, that takes place about 4 weeks after the events of the motion picture Serenity. Visit my website at http://www.harriersandheroes.ca where you can read the book in its entirety while I wait for a response from the publishing houses I have contacted.

Feedback is always welcome!

I have a Firefly comic done by Whedon. Serenity; Better Days. not too shabby. takes places between the show and the movie.

Re: Firefly - the novels?

yeah I've got that comic, plus another one I can't remember the name of, I thought they were pretty good, whilst my obsession with all things Whedon and particularly Summer Glau has cooled recently, I have to say I would still be interested in seeing some more stories from the 'verse.
