Winona Ryder's in this?!

Dammit! The woman destroys everything she touches! She is literaly the ONLY actress that makes me cringe when I see her "performances".

What's worse is she's playing Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother. And if rumors are true, she won't even actually be Amanda, she'll be Vulcan instead of human. Poor Jane Wyman, probably spinning in her grave.

Destroys everything she touches? That's a bit harsh, don't you think. After all, we're not talking about Melanie Griffith or Ewe Boll here.

What about Edward Scissorhands or Heathers?

Considering that Sylar...err, Spock is what, around 20? She's the right age I think.

How about Colby Paul, who according to IMDB, is playing the vital role of Vulcan Bully #2? I didn't think Vulcan's could be bully's!

That's pretty much what the whole Romulan race is about!

Or, well, they have that whole Pon-Farr thing, or whatever it's called. You know, the Vulcan-in-Heat period.

Ah ponn-farr, genius on the part of all trek writers, how can we get our characters all sweaty and obsessed with sex to the point of hilarity/naughty stiffy feelings for all our fans? Strange Vulcan disease, woohoo!

Re: Winona Ryder's in this?!

I guess I was naive - but I never knew Pon-Farr actually involved sexual intercourse. A while back I was reading about the production of Star Trek IV The Voyage Home and a dropped sub-plot was intended to explain why Saavik stayed on Vulcan and did not return to Earth and to Starfleet. The reason - she was pregnant with Spock's child. So that little hot hand diddy they did on Gensis was just Vulcan foreplay? Nice! Savvik was hot!
