Soylent Green is in Widescreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

If you haven't seen this movie in widescreen, then you must. It is a totaly different experience then the pan & scan vesion. Unfortunatly the only widescreen/letterbox version released was on LaserDisk in 1993. However you may be able to tape it off TCM which does run it in widescreen.

Re: Soylent Green is in Widescreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

if http://www.dvdreview.com/ is right there will be another widescreen version available in August - on dvd!

this can be read on their news page: "An anamorphic widescreen transfer will be mixed with the original mono soundtrack. No extras have been announced, but may still be coming."

let's just hope for some extra material...

Talking Soylent Green featurette

In 1975 Soylent Green aired on network t.v. and a "Making of..." featurette followed the movie. I hope the DVD release includes the featurette as well as the original movie trailers, which had a creepy voice-over... "What... is the secret... of... Soylent Green... ?" If I'm not mistaken the old laserdisc (Criterion?) included the featurette on the second side. jb/la.
