Re: Updated DVD list.

Ah - the joys of www.play.com
I browse through their special offers and just find myself subconsciously clicking the "Buy" button.
Then, a few days later, several packages will turn up at my door and I think it's my birthday again.

Re: Updated DVD list.

I have over 600 movies in my collection right now. They are all DivX/Xvid Two Pass compressed from DVDs.

I think I'll post just SF later on which counts around 250 total.

Re: Updated DVD list.

Ah - that's nothing.
A colleague at work has more than your average Blockbuster - around 3,000 titles in total.

With t.v. series having 6 or so discs in each title, she worked out she had around 6,000 discs.

Re: Updated DVD list.

I honestly can't think of 3000 even remotely good movie titles.

I have access to almost any DVD released for Region 1 and 2 but there is no sense in collecting them all just for the sake of numbers. Majority is just junk. Also I have a rule not to record a movie I haven't seen and liked for some reason.

BTW Did your friend watch all 6000 discs?

Question Re: Updated DVD list.

I've asked this before, and I'll ask again:

HOW in the charcoal-filled deepest pits of creeping sulphur-smelling imp-populated nine different levels of hell CAN YOU PEOPLE AFFORD all those DVDs?

And don't answer something like "I buy them online, It's cheaper".

I think you are all LYING about it all, and own 10-20 DVDs at maximum. Like normal people.

Re: Updated DVD list.

Well, like I said earlier, most of my money goes to my DVD collection these days. I usually:

- wait for them to go budget (I bought "Rambo: First Blood" and "Total Recall" today for 10).

- Only buy them upon release if they REALLY interest me.

- Buy movie packs instead of single movies.

- I buy them online, it's cheaper.

Re: Updated DVD list.

So if you buy them for 10 apiece, I mean, for collections like that... that's years of savings... and Ultimatey and others don't really work, right? Which makes it even stranger... Unless you are all born with the silver spoon in a candy castle in Lucksville, Diamond Land!

Please, don't force me to despise you, guys. Send me half of your DVD collections, and we'll all have medium sized and interesting collections. And stuff. (Somewhere in this post I totally lost myself, now I have no Idea of what this is about, but I'll just keep posting to avoid suspiscion)
