Most Over-Used Sci-Fi Plot?

We all like to ***** and moan about sequels and remakes and general lack of creativity any side of Hollywood.

Here's your chance to prove it. What's the most over used plot in Sci-Fi? (Thou shall be backing up thy answers with evidence)

So who'll take the title: Aliens on Mars? Asteriods about to destroy the earth? Sentient bots? Time travelling authority figures? Nucleur apocalypse?

A supersoldier learns to love! And then defies/ overthrows/ enlightens their evil creators. Resident Evil and... hm. I've gone completely blank. Maybe it's not so common. Ne'ermind...

After 1999, I should be sick of "what is reality?" movies.

Some overlooked but intellectually-inept soldier, or weak brother plotting revenge against his peers resulting in the usual world/galactic destruction as he fondles his huge weapons & sneers at all before him - Final Fantasy, springs to mind. I'm sure there are others but my mind just won't work so early in the morning

Something in the future coming to destroy earth and one/two, possibly three men are the only ones that can save it.
Armageddon, Sunshine, Deep Impact, The Core, Gallactica 1980, etc.

Underdog rebels who against all odds battle against an all-powerful evil empire/ruler(s). I don't think I even need to list examples, there are so many of those.
