The trailer was played before Inglourious Basterds tonight. Looked like a ****ing video game to me. Do not want.

Hmm, I thought it looked pretty good. But then look at the name, what do you expect from me?

From what I've read about this, it sounds like James Cameron jumping on the GOING GREEN GUISE LOL bandwagon.

Yes, I am indeed a cynical a--hole.

So does that mean that all the teamsters on his sets are going to be driving bio diesel trucks and the craft services table will feature only organic locally grown veggies?

Apparently I forgot he also made Titanic.

But it has the pretty boy in from Terminator, luckily he turns into a blue ja-ja binks, so I might be able to not rush to the cinema to see it.

(He should have waited longer for the tech)

Re: Avatar 2009

This movie looks horrible. The plot has already been revealed to be an overwarmed, outerspaced version of the preachy yet enjoyable Dances With Wolves only with a cut rate writer and an unlimited CGI budget. And hey, no native American authenticity to bother Cameron(as if historical accuracy in Titanic was ever an issue).

And can we declare the endless variations of the Dorothy's "We're not in Kansas anymore" to be the most overused line in Science Fiction?

I'm still going to see it, and you can't stop me! Mwahahahaha!

(Course I'll probably hate it)

Looks awesome, it's been years since Titanic's director hit the screen.

I still think the trailer looks horrendous, yet people are raving, friends (aka semi-normal people) are actually asking ME to go to this with them - have I stepped into the Twilight Zone?

Re: Avatar 2009

Well, Seraph, after seeing it, I can honestly say I was impressed. The story was good (a space version of Dances with Wolves), the CG and 3D were spectacular and you could almost feel like you were there on Pandora.

Re: Avatar 2009

I just can't get over the blue-ja-ja-binks alikes, I'm more than willing to be proved wrong, but they look far too unreal and cartoony to be blended with real action when the rating isn't a "U".

The normal TV doesn't do the the Na'Vi race justice, and believe me, they're nothing like Jar-jar Stinks. Go see it, I promise you'll like it Unlearn what you have learned.

Not the ultra-revolutionary übermovie of awesome we were promised, but pretty good nonetheless. It drags a bit, but the payoff is quite rewarding.

Awesome movie for Cameron's big comeback. Zoe's alien character was perhaps the hottest alien chick to grace the screen since M'ress in Star Trek the animated series.
