Definitly a strange movie with many fascinating elements and plot twists. Hopefully it will make it to the US if it hasnt allready.

Re: Avalon

By chance of sheer freaking luck, to night, I just managed to come across it in the Shopette(A mini grocery store here on base), I wasn't even looking for it. Oh the luck of it! I'm going to watch it tonight.

Picked it up the other day an I must say, Mamoru Oshii has outdid himself. From Ghost in the Shell to this, he is certainly a director with amazing skill in variety. The movie rox too!

I've watched it in English and Polish so far, and I like the Polish sub a lot.

Re: Avalon

You can certainly tell it was directed by Mamuro Oshii, simply by the style and pacing of the movie. Plus it has his signature "What is reality/life?" theme that is prevailent through out most of his movies.

Have you seen it yet Mac?

I just watched it again, tonight.

And I do suggest his two most popular films, Ghost In The Shell, and Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence. If you havent seen those yet, either.

I just watched Avalon. Very good film indeed. For some reason I missed this one first time around. I liked the nearly all 2-tone cinematography and thought it gave the film a 1984 type of feel.
