Xorgan, you've entered 'Flash Gordon' twice in this poll of yours! , was this a mistake or are there two films made at different times with the same name?

As SF_not_Sci-Fi pointed out correctly, I didn't.

Yes (there are several, in fact):

Flash Gordon (1936) http://us.imdb.com/Title?0027623 (first of several TV series)
Flesh Gordon (1974) http://us.imdb.com/Title?0068595 (option 3)
Flash Gordon (1980) http://us.imdb.com/Title?0080745 (option 2 - Queen made the soundtrack!)
Flesh Gordon Meets the Cosmic Cheerleaders (1989) http://us.imdb.com/Title?0097365

I'd suggest seeing the films with an A first. The 1936 series is said to be the inspiration for star wars and Indiana Jones, by the way.

Well - depending on your age it could have been before or after 1980 - then u'd surely must have seen it after the 1954 series came out, didn't u?

Re: The less than 99 choices "Your favorite SF Flick" poll

Not entirely relevant, but here in Ireland, we had a politician, a kind of studenty neo-hippy, who changed his name by deed-poll to Ming the Merciless, just to take the piss. Thing is, he's almost respectable now, even appearing in political quizes and everything.

This could prove to be a mistake.
You should watch all of them (or a least The Sleeper, Flash Gordon and Dark Star if your're underage).
