Acording to UK DVD magazine DVD REVIEW this month, the awesome Soylent Green is due out on DVD in October on Region 2,which means MGM will probably be releasing it on REGION 1 pretty soon, although I can find no verification of this on the web,nor can I find any info on the extras,as any of you who own Soylent on LaserDisc will know it was presented in 1.85:1 instead of the Panavision ratio of 2.35:1,and it had no audio commentary, but 5 years ago the VHS version in Britain had the original trailer,a short behind the scenes documentary, and a series of info cards,it will be great to see this bona-fide classic on DVD,and hopefully with a few good extras. If anyone has new info on this release then post it here,it would be greatly appreciated.

I sure hope they release it on DVD. It's almost perverse that they haven't already. All these years... not even a soundtrack. Crazy. =)

Saw the movie when I was about ten and have been influenced by it since then! Any news on the availability of this classic on DVD nowadays?

For those of you who can't wait to see Soylent Green on DVD, go to www.amazon.com and do a search for the DVD. When you try to order, you'll get to a registration page. Enter your email!!! They're keeping track of how many people are requesting this film on DVD. Hopefully the more people who request it, the sooner the studio will release it on DVD!! PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR SCIFI BUFF FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!
