HAL 9000. He's psychotic (as psychotic as a computer can get), and thus more dangerous.

Megatron?

I really don't know, not too familiar with either.

How about Jane Cobb vs. Riddick.

Re: The New SF Battle Thread

JAYNE!

Although, he did get beaten up by a 15 year old girl

Why he'd win? Lots of big guns

No, to be honest the winner would probably be Riddick because he's an actual murderer - Jayne may be a bastard, and he may have killed a couple in his time, but I doubt he's as viciousd as Riddick is supposed to be.

As for the other, I hate to say it but I think the Iron Giant is big enough to stomp on Megatron? If size isn't an issue, then maybe megatron - though bear in mind to transform into gun form he'd need someone to hold him.

Re: The New SF Battle Thread

Terminator TX thingie would probably rip off Ripley's head a couple of minutes into the match, sadly

And Pliskin would murder Max in cold blood through lack of caring for anything else but his own survival, whereas Max would take time out to save a post-apocalyptic settlement from machete-weilding bike-riding maniacs

The greatest, most debated sci-fi question ever:

Kirk vs Picard.

Slow down, people. We've got three matches going on at the same time here.

Uh...

Ripley

Max

Kirk

Re: The New SF Battle Thread

Kirk's the more physical of the two, though Picard is smart enough to rip off Kirk's toupeť and blind him with it

It would be a tough battle, because Picard's is really quite cunning. It would probably start with Kirk riping his shirt a bit to prepare as in Futurama

Ok, here's an interesting one.

The Force (Star Wars, the Midichlorian thing)

VS

"The Force" (Evil Dead series, the evil spirit in the woods)

Re: The New SF Battle Thread

Hmmm ... tough one. It takes only two powerful dark jedi to pretty much topple all the users of the light side of the force (apart from the couple that got away, naturally), so you'd think the Force would beat a disadvantage. Ah, but as long as there are practicioners of the Force in any capacity, Light or Dark, presumably the force is definitely still around and thus undefeated.

It takes only one man and his trusty chainsaw-hand/boomstick combination to repeatedly topple the Force of the Evil Dead, so not too impressed there either. Ah, but they always keep coming back, due to that pesky Book of the Dead (of the Dead).

So ... if a Jedi could destroy the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, presumably the Force would prevail over the Force?
