A Trailer For Casino Royale

Ok, it's a bit naughty posting this here as it's not exactly Moonraker-related ... but I'm sure I'm already guilty of several far more serious transgressions around here, so meh

A trailer for Casino Royale

Oddly enough, I'm not really enthused about this one, not anymore. I'm sure Daniel Craig will make a fine Bond, and it's incredibly unfair to judge him harshly before he's had a chance to prove himself, but I can't help but get an overwhelming feeling of 'meh' when watching the trailer. Even the music doesn't stir me like it used to.

Have I grown out of 007 films? Or has Die Another Day just put me off them with it's crapness?

Sorry man, no way you can be a real 007 fan and not get totally giddy by that trailer. I thought it was spectacular and this new guy looks fantastic. Could do without Dame Judy and am wondering why they couldn't bring back a Bernard Lee-esque crabby old M, but otherwise it looks great.

Yeah, I'm fired up. Peirce who?

Much as I like Dame Judi, I tend to agree - if they're rebooting B ond they could do with a different M, and a return to crusty old man M would be a good idea. Wonder if they've still got John Cleese or if they've done away with that sort of thing entirely.

I'm still not sure about the trailer, though

I'm sure I'll see this in a screening at work. I'm glad it's based on one of the old stories rather than someone coming up with another "The World is Not Dying Enough Tomorrow" or something like that.

Full Trailer is up on moviephone and man, man, MAN, it kicks some serious ass...but then again, don't they all. Really digging this new guy already. First 30 seconds of the trailer, some classic stuff.

I like that this one was directed by Martin Campbell who also directed "Goldeneye", one of the better Bond films (and Brosnan's only good one). The best thing about this movie is it's back-to-basics approach, with no gadgets and Bond not being a sissy.

I liked Daniel Craig in "Munich", but then again, he was in "Tomb Raider". And he was about half the size of Angelina Jolie in that.

When I saw the poster though I thought they had made a sequel to "Planet of the Apes" involving some sort of poker plot.

I heard they were gonna make James Bond metro-,bisexual or scheisse like that. I am very sad already and as I have always stated, Bond-movies have been shait since Brosnom. Well, okay, golden-eye was OK.

They were bad way before Brosnan though. In fact, the whole series is highly overrated. It gets by on reputation. No Bond movie is as good as the concept of James Bond himself.

All the Bonds are great except for the stuff that came in between The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldeneye. And everything that came after Goldeneye as well.

He's also half the size of half the guns he wields as Bond - but hey, he made good, so we forgive.

Oh and HWS - this is by far Dench's best turn, her first real opportunity to shine as Bond is realistically (and truly) incorrigable.
