Can we be allowed to swear?

Please, we promise to be good with the bad words.

and frankly, D I C K , is also a name, and no one can undestand why it's block, it's also a pretty lame insult, why as Nexus can attest to, I can come up with better and more sickening insults without even using a bad word,

I shan't now, because this is neither the time nor the place.

Taking the time to cleverly insert italics is bothersome.

And also ban-worthy on a site with an active admin.

Re: Can we be allowed to swear?

I appreciate and fully trust your ability to come up with colorful and creative alternatives to swearing. While I always favor freedom of expression on the SciFlicks Starship (even when it comes to criticizing Ramses, he deserved it), some swear words and insults were banned because they would tend to be used more as direct insults toward fellow pilots. Imagine this wonderful and very possible exchange:
Friendly Pilot: Well, I believe that while "Starship Troopers" appeals to the general crowd because of its captivating storyline and ultra violent battles, I fear that Verhoeven's keen criticism of fascist governments and cheerful picturing of mindless followers may not have been understood by those people likely to become pawns in a technology-enhanced dictatorship.
L33t L4m3r: F**k you, f***ing mo**on, SS was AWS0M3!!!!! You don't know s**t, ****wad.
Friendly Pilot: Thank you for proving my point.

Ahh... imagine recruits and apprentices joyfully peppering four letter words one liners as if they were "cool" for doing so. It's doubtful that such an attitude would contribute in a good way to the SQUAD's friendly environment.

P.S. I personally do swear, however never in public.
