Question Re: re-release of war of the worlds

I remember watching war of the worlds in the theater during the 70's, but am not sure exactly which year. Does anyone know what year the movie was re-released?

Theatrical and DVD release dates.
It used to be that you had to wait six months from the time a movie was released in theaters, for it to appear on video. And then, some tapes weren't...
