So how bad was it?

I wish Ramses would stop making forums for these action films. Anyway, I never saw this - was it one of Bay's worst or was it not quite as bad as the rest?

For the most part good. Jet unbelivable in some moments. All In all good action.

Reminds me of Logans Run.

It actually wasn't that bad. It still suffered from a few too many Michael Bay moments, over the top emotional nonsense (like when all the clones leave the facility, reminds me of that cheesy "I'd like to teach the world to sing" Coca-Cola commercial from the 79's). But it had some really juicy over the top action moments. Better than Armageddon, way, way better than Pearl Harbor, not a masterpiece, but decent all the way around.

Extremely good moments it had and I enjoyed it much. One of my favourite movies. I liked the connection between the two protagonists.

Re: So how bad was it?

As I am often bored at work, I trawl surfthechannel.com looking for things to watch to past the time (remember I work nights so I have lots of time). So I watched the Island. Not bad, not great, very obviously Michael Bay, though not as bad as most of his stuff.

Logan's run re-imagined most definitely, though without the charm of Logan's run. The action stuff was good as you'd expect, but it's certainly not something I'd buy. Though it seemed to have slightly less of Bay's "I wanna make porn!" style, so I'll give it credit for that. An interesting idea on the whole but not a new one at all. Scarlett Johansen was ok not that she had to do much, Ewan MacGregor I thought only showed his acting potential when there were two of him on screen. Sean Bean and Djimon Hounsou were nice additions I thought.

Actually it's quite fair but far from The Rock or the first Transformers which were his best movies.
