Re: Forum upgrade

Bummer, those tabs just won't behave! Oddly enough they work fine under IE 6.0 WinXP SP2, yet too large on my Win2k workstation. I've got an idea as to why, I'll try fixing that very soon.

Re: Forum upgrade

Tabs should be fine on IE6 now. There was a version synchronization discrepancy between the server and my development station. Untested under IE7 yet.

Re: Forum upgrade

Thats great. BTW new forums and new avi size demands an avatar selection revamp.

Ramses, I made a buch of them from various SF movies to fit the new size. You can use them if you like them.

PS: i noticed another difference between the IE and FireFox View of the forums.
In FireFox cell background in thread list and pilot avatar section in posts are uniform light grey while in IE it is a slowly transforming gradient fade in from white to light gray.

The question is which on is the correct one?

Re: Forum upgrade

Whoa, hang on! We can't even use colour in our sigs anymore?!

edit: And that's a lie. How come sig links come up as grey no matter what?

P.S. if they could be fixed to give true center/right alignment that would be great.

edit2: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop quick reply eating messages. It's getting ridiculous.

Just out of interest... I'm a sentimental old fool: is the old triangle-in-a-circle logo getting the axe?

Qick Reply hasn't eaten any of my posts at all. Sorry, Seraph

If it's any concolation, editing's very iffy with me sometimes.

Re: Forum upgrade

Yeah editing hangs and only way to make it work is to "Go Advanced" and sometimes that button is unresponsive (or you loose the edit you were making in between).

Board has eaten about 10 of my posts so far via quick reply. Almost convined it's when I take awhile/am flitting between stuff etc.

Re: Forum upgrade

I've been logged out when I've taken ages with a post, but other than that, no bother here.

I'm still having difficulty with my email notifications. When I click on the link to take me to the new post, I end up in the middle of the thread

Re: Forum upgrade

Great job Ramses. After my little disassociation with the updated forums, I am beginning to enjoy all the new updates, yet I still miss the original darkness of the forums visuals and I really hope there will be an alternative theme for the forum's visuals. Keep up the good work.

Re: Forum upgrade

Wow, I really like the new layout and everything. I haven't had any problems, although I haven't been using the new sciflicks for long.

The only thing I have a problem with are the colors, but if this:

Quote:
Colors: I'll be calibrating some of the offending colors to fit the main site's beta look. Once everything is done I will look into offering an alternative, darker color set. Just hang-on.

is still happening, I'm happy.

Thanks, Ramses.
