Actually, no.

"Return of the Living Dead" was the first movie of its own series, not a sequel to another movie, it's completelly unrelated to Romero's movies.

Still a great movie, though. I actually prefer it to Romero's "NotLD" (which is mentioned in "RotLD" in the hilarious "You mean the movie lied?!" scene).

More tongue-in-cheek, with a wink and a nudge.

I hate RotLD. Neither frightening, nor funny. And it has nothing to do with Resident Evil at all.

It's not frightening, but it sure is funny. It's like an 80's version of "Shaun of the Dead".

But less funny somehow....... How can anyone in their right mind prefer this to NotLD?! You must be suffering from a very high, brain boiling fever.

Well, NotLD is a masterpiece of a movie and I do love it, make no mistake, but what distinguishes it from RotLD is that it's a far more serious movie.

Also, Tarman rocks, and the zombies actually mutter "braaaaaaaaaaiins".

I didn't laugh once. It's a shame because it was a pretty good idea...

And I hated "Braaaains".

It also has the funniest excuse for nudity ever...no, wait, I don't think they ever explained why she started to randomly strip off... Or did they?

Cheesy and stupid. It's the sort of thing that's only funny once.

What I never got is how they knew that they wanted brains. And when they ask that zombie why she needs to eat, she says something like, "The pain of feeling dead is horrible, I NEED to eat" or something along those lines...all of the zombies looked like they were enjoying themselves and weren't suffering at all...

There is one bit I like, though - the part where the zombie says through the cops' walkie-talkie, "Send more cops!"
