Cool Good news, everyone!

No, nothing in particular.

I just made this thread with the sole intent of beig a place where we'll post good news, and good news alone.

After all, this community has a rather pessiistic feel to it, so hey, try and liven things up by saying what went right with you.

Re: Good news, everyone!

Splendiferous' Abandonware site has opened my eyes to all sorts of magical wonderfullness.

My piercings are all healed, and I'm in generally good health.

I think I might go to Scotland this year.

That's the best I've got.

No, it doesn't! Oh, who cares. This site is pointless, just like life - life, don't talk to me about life - my life is a meaningless void and it's all over much too quickly! We're going to continue receiving pointless remakes of classic films, I'll fail all of my exams and, worst of all, there's no more biscuits in the house! Oh, the pain, the pain of it all!

Pessimism is for people too lazy to deal with the inevitable disappointment of Optimism.

Re: Good news, everyone!

My view of pessimism is this : You should always expect the worst. If anything better happens - GREAT! Happiness aplenty. If things go badly, then rejoice in the fact that it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. If the worst happens - GREAT! Take pride in how right you were!

Anyway, let's see ... good things ...

I've made up with my two closest RL friends and we've sealed this with two intense matches of Worms World Party ... which I won both of!

My sister's coming back from Morocco very soon (end of next month), and she's booking train tickets to Wales so I get to have a week off, even though it probably means she'll probably be dragging me around Aberystwyth University, which won't be very relaxing for me

And ... uh ... that's all I've got right now. If I mention how good it is that work's been nice and quiet lately I'll probably curse it ... whoops ...

Yup - that was the exact same philosophy me and my friends believed during the exams. The happiness can be overwhelming though - I remember calling Attack of the Clones one of the best ever Star Wars movies ever after I first saw it, probably because there was so little Jar-Jar, but when I re-watched it, thought, "Um, oh..."

It's from the excellent, and improving on every viewing, The Descent. And - aha, Good News, Everyone! - it's getting it's US release in Summer. Six women get trapped in a cave with some shadowy predators, and start to turn on each other. Cue lots of bone crunching, muscle-shearing, eye-gouging and frenzied ear removal. Sort of a cave-bound Deliverance, only with more scares and less yokel-rape.

Sarah starts off looking like this:

And ends up looking like this:

Hmmm. Ah, Good News Everyone! The lady with the face transplant seems to be doing well!

Re: Good news, everyone!

That film was disappointing. Much like many horror films these days. We'll never get a decent horror movie ever again!
