Borderline?
Hmmm, having a tough time coming up with titles that are "borderline" sci-fi. Seems they either are or they aren't.
Good call with the Batman series, certainly borderline. Maybe something like James Bond with his futurusitic gadgets or The Hunt for Red October featuring stealth submarines. |

Re: Borderline?
Blade can be put under here until such time as the "Is it/Isn't it" argument is settled once and for all!

Re: Borderline?
There's a whole bunch of stuff that could/should (depending on your persuasion) be pushed in here a la: Ghostbusters, Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers, NightWatch, loads in Upcoming Movies actually, Superman etc etc.

Re: Borderline?
I'd put all of M. Night Shyamalan's movies in this bucket, along with Dragonfly, Mothman Prophecies, and much of Steven King's work.

Re: Borderline?
I don't know, there's not much that's SF about The Sixth Sense. As for King, IT could be said to be borderline SF on account of the origion of the clown-thing, and Tommyknockers IS SF, but most of the rest of it is fantasy/horror stuff.
Never seen Dragonfly or Mothman Thingies, though - any good? |

Re: Borderline?
What about scary movies, they often involve some sort of fantasy. Its like for every Halloween or Friday the 13th (original) which have realistic settings. There are the Freddy Kruger films and all the other Friday the 13th films.
For example A movie like HATCHET, which by the way is excellent. Has a unnatural character with an unnatural background. The death scenes are very graphic and involve lost of sci fi like elements: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6stizs9h-g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ainh...eature=related I'm just saying whats the difference between a Victor Crowley and a Morpheus. |
