Yes I remember it --but not in detail !........the guy died/killed but preserved in the form of a computer generated person?
Wasn't he an investigator of some kind? It was along time ago!

I remember the series as well. I don't remember the guy dying, though. I thought they just made a computer program version of him or something. My memory sucks.

I do distinctly remember something about peoples' heads exploding, though...

Re: Max Headroom

I tried watching it when it originally come on. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was around the same time that Sledgehammer and the newer Mission Impossible series were running.

Tech TV is showing reruns of it.

Anyone else remember those cheesy Pepsi commercials that featured Max?

Re: Max Headroom

Max Headroom, as far as I know, was the only time a commerical was ever turned into a television show. It didn't last long. It was interesting premise (each show began with the tag fifteen minutes into the future) and sported a great look and feel, but the stories were stiff and uninteresting, a blend of cloak and dagger with private eye kind of thing. Max Headroom was a computer version of the main character. He was riding a scooter and hit a sign that said MAX HEADROOM meaning maximum head room this height, and was reproduced in computer form. The actual character Max Headroom wasn't in the show that much.

Re: Max Headroom

A series? I only saw the movie. The one with the MAX HEADROOM 2.3M that the guy hit but didn't die from.

I only remember those Pepsi commercials from watching BACK TO THE FUTURE II.

I think Matt Frewer was going to do something else with Max soon. Maybe in comicbook form.

Info

There were two versions of the "movie". The original was made in England, some of it was reshot/recast for American audiences. The American version was used as a pilot for the series.

TechTV has been running the series (including the originally unaired 14th episode).

Check out http://www.tvtome.com/MaxHeadroom/ for basic series info. Episode list is at http://www.tvtome.com/MaxHeadroom/eplist.html

I used to watch this series religiously when it was on channel 4 in 1987 and still have the first 2 episodes on the original video.
