This is the forum to get to know your fellow pilots and the ONLY place to talk about everything else not really relevant to sci-fi movies, including your personal loves and interests. A true pilot doesn't discuss these issues while on duty.

Pinky can be excused, he's a punk, and punks traditionally hate metal

Iron Maiden was founded with a goal to ending the punk craze in England, you know

Just like all the mods and rockers in the 60s then? Fair enough. You can be excused, Pinky - but I'll be watching you...

Haha. Well, I hate mods too. In the words of Exploited:
Fuck a mod,
Fuck a mod,
Fuck a mod, today!

I voted for Metallica. They're about the only ones that I liked on the list. Well, I liked AC/DC, but a lot of their stuff stunk after Back in Black.

Re: Best 80's Heavy Metal Hair Band

I feel like this is entirely pointless to say, but a fair number of the bands on this list were not "hair bands". "Hair bands" played "hair metal" (Motley Crue, Ratt, Def Leppard and Cinderella, Poison), which was a mainstream, poppy kind of rock that and was basically metal flavored bubblegum and aimed at teenagers.

But I'm a nitpicky metal head, so my opinion may be biased. But, my vote would have to to Metallica, just based on their first four albums.

I chose Def Leppard because I love the song "Photograph" and Exodus is not on here. Otherwise I probably would've posted lyrics to "The Toxic Waltz".
