Post Re: The One

In my magazine it says:

Taking a hefty pinch of style from the Keanu-starring actioner, Jet Li's latest chop-shockathon sees the fleet-fisted fighter squaring off...himself. Several versions of himself, in fact, for this high-concept sci-fi. The brain-streching premise plays the old parallel worlds theory, and sees Lias Yulaw, a master crinimal leaping between realities from murdering his doubles in order to gain their strengh. Naturally, the authorities can't let Yulaw finish the job, so they dispatch a pair of temporal coppers to stop him.

I loved the ending. Basicly he's just like "Heh heh, I'm no one's bit** here" and starts wailing on everything

Me too. At least he got to use his strenght in a productive way. Bashing inmates heads as they come along while we hear "Last resort" paying in the background. Nice ...

I liked the part where they were fighting each other, and that Papa Roach song was playing and all, that was cool. And when he picked up the motorcycles...heh heh heh heh heh.

It was a pretty cool movie...some of the story wasn't all too clear to me, but the spfx and the concept and stuff were cool.

I love the fight when he fought himself. Nice Matrix-style slo-mo and speed up techniques during various air kicks and punches/blocks/counter punches. Also I enjoyed the part where they were preparing/practicing their moves. Classic Jet Li films really.

What I don't get is why only send two coppers for him? I mean, it's like the end of the universe kind of thing right? "Hey guys! Wanna save the universe and take on a guy who can knock your head off literally?" I mean one of them was even a rookie! How stupid is that?

Besides the Last scene and when they fight each other I find the begining fight and his whole entrance realy impressing. Especialy when he beats the crap out of those ten police guards and the slowmotion kicks.

It is just to sweet!

Having seen this film through my contacts down the "dark alley"
I can say that it was quite enjoyable apart from the acting of that guy who was 'Turkish' in Snatch.
And damn...I want the guns those guys have!

The first few big set scenes are very Matrix and Crouching Tiger.
In a good way.

I liked.

Couldn't agree more with the fight scenes. Nicely done in proper martial art stylie with Matrix touches. Very impressed with Jet Li. (never seen any of his stuff before)

Re: The One

Aha! Thought that I recognised him, 'turkish' that is. Mind is at ease now. His acting was alright, but his accent was a bit dodgy.

And yeah elements of Crouching Tiger there too. Glad someone else picked up on that.
