Angry Does anyone enjoy the movie Twins?

I apologise for the thread title. Just curious as to whether people enjoy this movie.

I liked it also!.... Can really specify why. It was good to see James Spader do something different. I just like stories/films set in space--all except ...Mission to Mars.

Re: Does anyone enjoy the movie Twins?

Yeah Mission to Mars was a rip of of almost every other popular SF up to date , that deals with the Idea of "friendy aliens" (2001,Close Encounters, Abyss) .

But As for SuperNova, I liked the dark atmosphere and the fact that there is no happy ending.

BTW did you see the deleted ending? The bomb they activated was predicted to be the end of the known universe. The Device they found was actualy a portable "maxy Black hole".

Did not see the deleted ending!! Is this extra stuff/changes to be found on the DVD?
I enjoyed the dark mood of the film--not too many jokes (as there are sometimes)--I'll go away and look for the alternative ending-Thanks.

Re: Does anyone enjoy the movie Twins?

Well it is not that much. It is just a an extended dialog of "Swettie" the onboard AI. You know when she says That the explosion will reach Earth in 40 years, in the deleted scene she ads that the ultimate prediction of explosion effects is the total disruption of all known 3D matter.

The DVD extra scenes are prety long it seems that they've cut around 10-15 minutes in the original release. Some of them were prety good (Like the fetus like colonist on the Planet), but some were just aqward.

Actually I read a pretty in depth preview of Supernova and the movie was originally over two hours long and with a dark, gloomy ending. MGM didn't know what to do with it so they put it on the shelf for over a year and Francis Ford Coppola decided to chop it down and make it into something else. People really dissed the film, but I'll admit I liked it even though it is way too short! Like it or hate it, the soundtrack is great!

Yeah, they should have kept the fetus thing in- that was creepy. That mining computer G.E.O.R.G.E. was also cool- Come to think of it, they shouldn't have deleted any of the deleted scenes

Black holes are theoretical concepts of condensed mass. So dense that they attract everything even light.

I know that according to the book 3001 they are not entierly friendly , but I still feel like human kind owed that little intelligence it has to the monolith. I know this is “debatable “ but I think more intelligence is always good.

Therefore I think the constructors of the monolith were more friendly then hostile towards their experiment . (us)

well, i just disregard the sequels, but even 2001 on its own; I always thought that the ending, with the progression into the starchild, wasn't necessarily an optimistic one, thats all.
