Post Office Mail the Universal Entertainment Group

PRESS RELEASE (04/02/2002): "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (4-hour miniseries) - SCI FI re-imagines the groundbreaking and beloved series in which 'a rag, tag fugitive fleet' of the last remnants of mankind searches for its true home. Fleeing the aliens responsible for the slaughter of their homeworld, the Battlestar Galactica survivors must meet a whole new set of challenges. This intriguing twist on a classic will be written by writer Ronald D. Moore (Roswell, Mission Impossible II) with Breck Eisner (Steven Spielberg's Taken; The Invisible Man) attached to direct. Distributed by USA Cable Entertainment, the Project will be executive produced by David Eick (American Gothic, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Spy Game)." The new miniseries is a re-imagining, and not a continuation, of the original Battlestar Galactica series, and may not include the original cast, characters, and themes! Send a post office mail to the Universal Entertainment Group! For more information, visit our Battlestar Galactica revival information page.

Sign the four primary Battlestar Galactica Online Petitions

The four primary Battlestar Galactica Online Petitions are available for you to sign and show your support for Battlestar Galactica. The four petitions mentioned here are the only petitions that are currently endorsed by BattlestarGalactica.com. Petition #1 is the Battlestar Galactica Revival Petition to signal the sincere hopes that original cast members (and their characters) be considered for regular roles in the new Battlestar Galactica pilot/ongoing series from Studios USA/Fox Network/Sci-Fi Channel in 2002. Petition #2 is the Battlestar Galactica DVD Petition to urge Vivendi Universal and Studios USA to seriously consider the release of ALL episodes of the original Battlestar Galactica television series on DVD/VHS formats. Petition #3 is the Battlestar Galactica New Series Petition aimed directly at the current Sci-Fi Channel happenings and utilizes stronger wording. Petition #4 is the Battlestar Galactica Fight for Survival Petition to support the new Battlestar Galactica production only if it is done right with direct linage of the original series and includes core members of the original cast in their original roles and includes the original Galactica ship. These are the only four petitions that are endorsed by BattlestarGalactica.com and BattlestarPegasus.com. You can make a difference by signing the petitions yourself, and be sure to alert your family, friends, and fellow fans as well to visit BattlestarGalactica.com and sign the petitions!

Sign the two additional Battlestar Galactica Online Petitions

The Battlestar Galactica Richard Hatch Petition encourages Richard Hatch to make available his "Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming" movie trailer to the Internet. The petition states: "We, the fans, respectfully request that you make the trailer, "Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming" available to be shown on the Internet. The SciFi Channel's remake is in production at this time with no plans for a continuation by TPTB. Your four and one-half minute trailer with many of the original actors and the original story continued is all we have. Only a few people have been able to see it at SciFi Conventions. We respect your decision to show it only at conventions in the past, however, with the remake looming on the horizon this may well be our last chance to see the 'originals' we have come to love. A stipulation that allowed you to make the trailer was that you make no monetary gain from it - we therefore offer you only our profound and lasting gratitude." Richard Hatch -IS- listening! If you agree with the petition, then sign the petition to make your voice heard. The Battlestar Galactica Sci-Fi Management Petition is a new petition stating that "We, the viewers of Universal's SCI-FI Channel, hereby request an immediate change in management--mainly with regard to Bonnie Hammer,President of the station. We feel insulted and we feel cheated, for evidence clearly indicates that the station is run by people who have little to no knowledge of the subject matter the channel was intended to embody. It should be the goal of Bonnie Hammer and the SCI-FI Channel to acknowledge and pay homage to televised science fiction and movies from the past, present, and future, as all are part of the genre's heritage. This is what Bonnie Hammer's own channel logo claims to represent, yet all we viewers can see is that Hammer's logo perpetuates FALSE ADVERTISING." Michael Faries of BattlestarGalactica.com has just posted a new update on the Battlestar Galactica mini-series: "It's ALIVE! - The script has finally been approved. The next steps for the process appear to be: a.) nailing down a director (which may happen within the next two weeks), then b.) going full bore into production. (re: director. I'm assuming Breck Eisner is no longer attached to this project.) Some conceptual artwork has been done on a few of the interiors and exteriors, but beyond that, most of the design work still looms on the horizon. Personal note: The green-light still has not been given, but the current BG mini-series production has not folded. For those that might ask, I'm not going to comment on specifics, both what I've heard from reliable sources and the rumormill. You can interpret things as you like." Thanks to Michael Faries for posting the report at the Battlestar Galactica Club Forums.

Michael Faries of BattlestarGalactica.com and BattlestarPegasus.com has just created a brand-new picture entitled "Poseidon's Fury" (Pre-"Saga of a Star World") and describes the picture as: "The Colonial battlestar Poseidon returns victorious from the Battle of Altura -- but other Cylon forces have blocked the return path to the Twelve Colonies. This image demonstrates the Poseidon's Viper squadrons (post-launch) as they maneuver head-to-head with Cylon forces. Let your imagination do the rest. Maybe someday, I'll do a series of battle images." Be sure to check out the excellent new picture and other pictures as well at BattlestarPegasus.com.

T. Shawn Hardy of Radio Galactica posted an update for the fan's radio play Galactica project: "Basically put... Before the big sneak attack on the 12 planets, we have a discovery of rich minerals by a family in a ring system waiting to be mined. As by law, other families are allowed to go there and make their claim but a dispute happens and the Defender Argus is sent from the home worlds to keep the peace. 6 months later the holocaust happens and not knowing that any humans have survived, the Defender Argus brings together all of the community that it now polices and hides in various gas clouds and asteroid fields for the next 20+ yahrens. They eventually run out of what they need to survive but by this time they learn how to decipher Cylon codes and upon learning of the Galactica and it's escape many years earlier, they head out on the same trail that she took and so a new adventure begins." Be sure to check out the complete report and reply to T. Shawn Hardy at the Battlestar Galactica Club Forums if you would like to participate.
