Dune mini-series (extended) and sequel

I have just seen that there is a Director's cut of the Dune 5hr mini-series that claims to have 30 mins of previously unseen footage.
As a fan of the mini-series (not as good as Lynch's film but still worth watching as a more faithful adaptation) I am interested to know what these extra 30mins are? Does anyone know.

Also, does anyone know when the "Children of Dune" mini-series is going to be released on DVD (I don't think it has aired yet, but it probably won't be aired in the UK until after the DVD is released in the US)?

Help me, pleeeeeease
