Thumbs up 2002: A SciFlicks odyssey! A review of SciFlicks most historic year!

Well 2002 was most definitely the most historic year for SciFlicks.

Feel free to add your thoughts to this thread.

This thread will detail month by month the most historic year in SciFlicks history.....

January 2002: A time of uncertainty for the SQUAD! Ramses was gone. And many key members to the success of keeping continuous disscussion at SciFlicks was being threatened as Tinny, Yeyinde, and UnReGisTeReDmAn all left. (Tinny later came back in April as Xeno, and Yeyinde still posts here but sparingly in the Predator forum) With their departures they left Phlub alone as the only surviving member of what was once dubbed as the "Fab Four".

Ramses (SciFlicks founder, creator, administrator and God) continued a 5 month long absensce from the SQUAD.

Febuary 2002: Ramses abscensce continued, and then pilots got jumpy, many setting up accounts for themselves at ascifi.com, turned out that it had more spam in a day then sciflicks ever would have.

But on Febuary 17th Phlub, made that fateful call via phone to Ramses and brought him back. It turned out Ramses was still paying for sciflicks and was always going to uphold sciflicks. He also promised more moderators, that wouldn't happen for a while but did happen.

[/b]March 2002: In March Phlub and his personal friends along with the obvious help and "overseeing" of Ramses rated all moderator candidates and assembeled as list of candidates. After which the finalists who agreed to the moderator position were announced. It was the end of spam and the beginning of order at Sciflicks.
The moderator elects once announced then had to be approved by the most important critic the SQUAD! pilots. And the SQUAD! praised the candidates unanimously.

April/ May/ June 2002: Posting went on as normal or at least as normal as we at the SQUAD! could make it. Meanwhile behind closed doors and in their own spare time the Moderator Elects pounded out rules and policies they would enforce when becoming promoted to the moderator positions.

July 2002: Moderators were finally promoted on what has been come to known as the SciFlicks Christmas. Oogaphlub, SF_not_Sci-Fi, Ivanhoe, HighWiredSith, Coronis, Iwata, Cabalcomb, and a last minute write in moderator hand picked by Phlub and Ramses thegreenknight (TGK later turned out to be one of the greatest traitors in SciFlicks history) were promoted to join eidolon and !Night Blade! as moderators.

It was then the true beginning of the end of spam in SciFlicks, as Sonny was SciFlicks last big time spammer, he was also the worst spammer, as he went by other profiles such as "Sonny Mastermind", "Oogaphlub_is_gay", "Cyber Terminator", and "t9000".

August 2002: Sonny was finally banned and the new moderators continued under rave review from the SQUAD! to cleanup Spam and crackdown on Spammers.

September 2002: The SQUAD! members paused to remember the victims and families of the 9/11/01 Terrorist Attacks.

Moderator's Note: I would like to thank all members who sent their condolonces considering my loss of my brother and 2 cousins.

October/ November/ December 2002: It was the holidays at Sci Flicks. Many holiday wishes were being sent out. While in the midst "the greenknight" betrayed the Moderators Council by leaking some of their most preciously kept secrets. He has yet to return. Yet the squad has been able uphold its dignity. And when Ramses was thought to be gone yet again, Phlub called Ramses again and made sure things were good and he also briefed the Founder of SciFlicks on the current situations.

And that is the year in review for SciFlicks. I have been here since essentially the beginning of this great site.

Please feel free to give your opinions of this thread and the year we have had which has been the most historic ever at SciFlicks.

I also would love to wish you all a very Happy and Safe New Year!

Sorry SF.

Yes your 3 month long absensce certainly hurt the sqaud and the moderators. And I really mean that, since I consider you about as close as you can get on the internet to a friend.

Hey, regardless of what TGK did, I still have faith in the mods of this site, and will vouch for anything that is essential to keep this site running.

To be honest I didn't put when the ladies joined up because it would have been to broad. And I didn't put when other important members joined because I would still be typing that post.
